Text | [Athletic vs. Mutual 6/1/1872] [Anson at first base] McGeary was the next striker, and adopting the regular Athletic tactics, he, of course, waited to give Anson a chance to leave second. In the interim Cummings sent in three fair balls, and as McGeary let them go by without striking at them, the penalty was properly inflicted, and McGeary struck out. |
