Text | The professional and amateur nines of the Mutual Club played their first game together yesterday afternoon, on the Union Grounds, Williamsburgh, before about six hundred spectators. Of course the professionals won the game, but, nevertheless, the contest was interesting from first to last. The Amateurs had never played their nine together, nor have any of them had any practice in “ball tossing” since last season, a fact which goes far towards explaining the great difference in the two scores. |
