Text | [writing of a new ordinance in Hoboken] By the new law, as stated by the police after much questioning, two balls must not be used on one ground, that is, if the men at the bat, as always been customary, should, awaiting their turn, throw another ball around for practice, they are liable to arrest, and will be fined according to their apparently ability to pay, although in uniform, and upon their own ground. |
