Text	The excitement over the National Game out west is at fever heat and our exchanges teem with the most glowing accounts of matches between local clubs, and the movements of the “big guns.” If the Red Stocking announce that they will on a certain day play the crack club of some populous district, the papers in the towns for miles around call attention to the fact, and detail how the people can visit the scene for half fare and witness the “greatest club in the world” play their champions while they speculate as to whether “their boys” will make half a dozen runs. This argues well for the continued prosperity of the game, and nothing tends to increase and keep up the interest so much as the tours fo good clubs. So far from being on the wane Base Ball was never in so flourishing a condition as it is to-day.
