Text	[from Answers to Correspondents] 1. A was pitcher, B striker, C catcher, D on 3d base. When C returned the ball to A, D attempted to make the home base (being a good runner). A pitched the ball to C, who stepped up to home base to receive it, to put out D. B, who stood at a convenient striking distance from home base, hit the ball and made the 1st base. Now, who is out, B or D, or neither? 2. Has the striker a right to strike such balls when passed in to catcher for putting out a man as above? 1. Neither were out. 2. The striker has a right to strike at any ball, so long as he is on his position.
