[1] Downer's Grove downs Union, 7/7/1858. "A match game was played yesterday afternoon between the Union Base Ball Club, of this city, and the Downer's grove Base Ball Club. . . . A spacious tent was erected on the Club's grounds, corner of West Harrison and Halstead Streets. The Downer's Grove Club came of [sic] victorious, the 'country boys' being excellent players."
