Description | Baseball was played by the students of Baghdad College in 1947. See "El Iraqi" (1947). It appears it was introduced by the Jesuits around 1934. See S. J. MacDonnell, "Jesuits by the Tigris" p. 32. Baghdad College was founded in 1932 by Jesuits as a high school for the Iraqi elite and for Americans living there. |
