Text | [Mutual vs. Union of Lansingburgh 8/4/1868] ...another half hour was lost by the refusal of the captain of the Mutuals to allow any one to run for Rus, the pitcher of the Unions. It appears that Rus, although an excellent pitcher, is unable to run, from some cause not stated, and that it has been the custom heretofore to allow some one to run for him.
