<p>In a Memphis Daily Appeal article dated September 12, 1867 about a state convention of base ball clubs, the Pride of the South Club is mentioned.</p>

<p>A January 1867 article exhorted club members to pay their dues or risk "public expulsion" from the club.</p>
<p>A July 1868 article notes that the club was playing in a series of games for the championship of West Tennessee.</p>
