| Description | David Block, Baseball Before We Knew It, page 224, lists new constitutions for the Granite BB Club of Manchester NH and the Quinnipiack BB Club of New Haven CT. The Quinnipiack BB Club played and lost a game against Fair Haven on about July 28, 1859. This game appears in the Protoball Games Tabulation (CT table) compiled by Craig Waff. The New Haven Palladium, May 26, 1863 reports that this club was formed in 1858, and plays every Wednesday at 4 pm. Arcidiacono, "Major League Baseball in Gilded Age Connecticut" says this club was formed May 14, 1858. New Haven had 39,267 residents in 1860. |
