Description	The Petersburg Index and Appeal, Aug. 23, 1873, reports an Enfield item dated Aug. 22 of a game between the Enfield base ball club and the Advance of Petersburg “today”. Enfield NC (current pop. about 2300), a predominantly African-Americana town, is about 65 miles NE of Raleigh NC. Petersburg VA (current pop. about 32,000) is about 80 miles N of Enfield and also has a strong African-American presence.
