Description	The Petersburg Index & Appeal, Aug. 17, 1878, reports that the Red Stocking base ball club of Manchester played the Old Dominion of Petersburg yesterday in Petersburg, won by the home team 8-6. Richmond VA is about 22 miles N of Petersburg VA. Manchester was annexed by Richmond in 1910 and is now the part of Richmond south of the James River.
