Description	(BDE: “An easy victory for the ‘Puts.’ The playing on the part of the Charter Oak boys [was] loose and wild, and the batting only middling …”) (NYT: “There were between fifteen hundred and two thousand spectators surrounding the grounds, in some instances impeding both the ball and the fielders.”) (NYC: “The day was very warm, and the grounds being in the city and there being but little shade, the number of spectators were not so great as usual. The Charter Oak grounds are not suitable for playing matches, being altogether too narrow, a ball hit to right or left field going in among the crowd who congregate on the sidewalks.”)
