Description

The Cubs' Ryan Dempster and the Reds' Homer Bailey started a game in Cincinnati on the birthday they share. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, this is the first time that has happened in Major League history.

Bailey, in the process of turning 26, found out when Hall of Fame reps brought four baseballs for him to sign, including one for the HOF itself. "I guess if you're going to be in the Hall of Fame, there are worse ways you can be in there," he said.

The Reds won the game in the 10th, 4-3. Both hurlers received no decisions for their birthday outings.
