The original plan of playing one hundred tallies was abandoned, the Medway Club acknowledging themselves beaten, and the Upton Club receiving the prize of $1000.”) The Worcester Spy, Oct. 3, 1860 has more on this game, which spread out over 4 days. It was originally to be played to 100 runs, but was ended by mutual consent. |
