Description

The Memphis Avalanche, December 18, 1866 reports the formation of the Enterprise Base Ball Club last Saturday, with 22 members. Same January 10, 1867 reports the formation of the Pride of the South Base Ball Club. Same February 17, 1867 says a game between the Enterprise and the Pride of the South Base Ball Club will be held February 18. The Memphis Appeal, February 24, 1867 reported on a match between the Athletics and the Atlantic Base Ball Clubs. The Nashville American May 3, 1867 says that the Enterprise of Memphis attended a state baseball convention at Chattanooga.

Memphis TN lies at the West of the state, on the Mississippi River.
