"Nevertheless, between 1909-11 Gillett’s Seoul YMCA [baseball] team set about to tour the peninsula, travelling north to play ball in both Pyongyang and Kaesong."

By the 1920s the Japanese occupiers had introduced baseball throughout the Korean Peninsula, with many clubs in Pyongyang.

The North Korea national baseball team competed in international games in 1991.
