The game was billed in the newspapers as for the championship of New Mexico. Same Nov. 30, 1868 says the game was played Nov. 28 about a mile from Las Vegas, near the race course. Santa Fe won 74-36. Fort Union is north of Las Vegas, NM. Las Vegas had a population of 2,312 in 1890. |
