Comment

The fact that fly catches were deemed a stat worth reporting sheds some oblique light on the novelty of elimination of the bound rule, only settled on in 1864 for the 1865 season after several years' debate within the NABBP. Note that these clubs may not have been members and Association rules may or may not have been in effect.
