Peter Morris et al., editors, "Base Ball Pioneers. 1850-1870" p. 225 mentions a BBC in Rochelle in 1866.

This was the Clipper Club. The Sterling Gazette, Aug. 11, 1866: "Base Ball--A match game of base ball was played at Dixon on Thursday last" between the Clipper Club of Rochelle and the Dixon Club of Dixon. Rochelle won.
