The New York Clipper, Aug. 4, 1860: "The New York game in Chicago--the base ball fraternity of Chicago, Ill. appear to have accepted the New York style of playing, almost entirely. Among the clubs who play the game, are the Atlantic, Excelsior, Osceola, Excelsior Jr., Atlantic Jr., Niagara, Little Giant, Red Jacket, Columbia, Ossawatamie, and Young America."
