Text | [Mutual vs. Atlantic 10/7/1867] A good deal of speculation was excited to know what course the Atlantics would take in view of the recent decision of the Judiciary Committee, adverse to Devyr and the Mutual Club. They, however, took the mild and reasonable course of simply protesting against Devyr, so as to protect themselves from the consequences before the Convention. The Mutuals, of course, took no notice of the protest, and the game proceeded. |
