Description | The Grounds the Shabbona (and other Ottawa) clubs played on in the 1860s was described as "east of the Fox River bridge." This appears to be on the land of Col. William H. W. Cushman, where a skating park was erected in the winter of 1867. The bridge at this time was the Main St. bridge, and Shabbona St. intersects Main St. about here. Near the present-day high school. |
