Description | The Chicago Inter Ocean, June 23, 1895, mentions the Oaklawns baseball club. Same June 23, 1894 has a team, the Guides, wanting to play any other team at Oak Lawn on July 4th. Oak Lawn was incorporated in 1909. It had 287 residents in 1910. At this time it was a largely farming community around Oak Lawn (earlier, Black Oak) railroad station. |
