Randall Brown, "Blood and Baseball," "Base Ball" vol. 3 no. 1 (Spring 2009) identifies several upstate New York Black teams, including the Unexpected of Rochester, who existed in 1868.

In 1866 they played the Lincoln of Niagara Falls. See Rochester Union and Advertiser, Sept. 11, 1866.
