Description

The Grand Forks Herald, June 13, June 15, 1883, mentions the Fargo club being challenged to a base ball match.

The Fargo Times, Aug. 7, 1875 reports that the Fargo boys played Moorhead Wednesday evening, in a game called when the sun went down.

On January 5, 1875, the Dakota Legislature enacted "An Act to Incorporate the City of Fargo." Two months later, on March 13, 1875, the Fargo Star reported that members of the Red River Baseball Club will have their first annual meeting in the Headquarters Hotel on the evening on March 31, 1875.

Fargo was founded in 1871. The city is on the Red River. It had 2693 residents in 1880.
