The Crown Point Register, June 27, 1878: "The game of base ball between the Clippers of Hobart and the Lone Star of this place, played at Merrillville on Monday, was given to the Lone Star by the umpire..." The Clippers walked off the field to protest some umpire rulings, and the ump awarded the Lone Star a 9-0 forfeit.

Same May 9, 1878, gives the roster of the Lone Stars.
