Description

The Waukegan Weekly Gazette, May 25, 1867 has an extensive report and box score of a ball game "Monday Last" between the Lake Shore and Waukegan BBCs, at "McKay's Addition". The Lake Shore was composed of young men who worked for the local cigar company of Dennis, Lyon and Co.

The Chicago Tribune, July 27, 1867, has an extensive article on the State base ball convention. Among the clubs sending delegates was the Lake Shore of Waukegan.

The Waukegan Weekly Gazette, Sept. 9, 1871 reports on a game between the Lake Shore and the Highlanders of Highland Park. Gives a box score.
