Comment	The New Orleans Times Picayune, Aug. 14, 15, 1859 has a long article on American sports, specifically the rise of cricket and base ball, but it compares the latter to "town ball" and "knock ball." Is "knock ball" another name for "knock out"? The San Francisco Chronicle, June 24, 1884, reports that American baseball players in England practice by playing a game of "knock up." Games of "Knock up and catch" is mentioned in the Chicago Tribune, July 5, 1879, Aug. 9, 1886, The Adrian (MI) Telegram, Aug. 17, 1898, Watertown Daily Times, Apr. 23, 1873, and the St. Joseph News-Press, July 17, 1885.
