The San Francisco Chronicle, Aug. 26, 1870, says the Rincon BBC of San Francisco beat the Haymakers of Brooklyn (then, an independent town, now, a neighborhood of Oakland) on the 22nd by one run.

Brooklyn and adjoining Clinton became part of Oakland in 1872.
